In the Seine Eure region, there is an authentic fortified Norman medieval town: Pont de l’Arche.

A town with many heritage sites located 15 kilometres (9 miles) north of Louviers, Pont de l'Arche has preserved important remains of its fortification wall and ditches. Along the little streets, admire the authentic Norman half-timbered houses, the Notre-Dame-des-Arts Church, etc. Numerous buildings and houses testify to the town's former administrative, judicial, military and religious role; and travel back in time from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance.

If you cross the bridge that links Pont-de-l'Arche to Igoville, you will see the Eure river flow into the river Seine.
